SHIVAN BHAGGAN BSc, MBA, ACII, CPCU
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr. Bhaggan joined IBWIL as a Trainee Broker in March 2004. He was first assigned to the claims department and negotiated and settled major claims on behalf of IBWIL’s largest Private and State Sector clients. Subsequent to this, he actively participated in the placement of large complex Property and Liability risks both locally and also into the London and International markets.
Mr. Bhaggan was appointed Director/General Manager in 2005. He is the holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree BSc in Management Studies from the University of London and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Heriot Watt University in Scotland. Mr. Bhaggan is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and a Chartered Insurance Broker. He was appointed Managing Director in 2018.
In early 2012 Mr. Bhaggan charted a course of establishing IBWIL as the first local Insurance Broker to achieve Chartered Insurance Broker status. This status is granted by the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK only after satisfying rigorous criteria. In 2014 his goal was achieved and IBWIL was granted Chartered Insurance Broker status, the first local and only Insurance Broker to date in Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean to have achieved such a prestigious award. This speaks volumes about our Integrity, Vision and Innovativeness.
Mr. Bhaggan’s early claims experience confirmed that local adjusters were lacking not only the necessary technical skills to enable them to perform their jobs effectively but also the finesse of treating delicately with clients who have suffered in some instances catastrophic losses. In another industry first, Mr. Bhaggan made it compulsory on every policy placed by IBWIL with local and overseas insurers that a Nominated Loss Adjusters Clause is included as Standard.

NARINE NAIDOO BSc, ACII, CPCU
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mr. Naidoo commenced his career thirty (30) years ago when he started working at Trinidad Aviation and Marine Insurance Company Limited as a trainee underwriter moving quickly up through the ranks to become a senior property and casualty underwriter. Before joining the IBWIL team in 1983 in the capacity of Office Manager/ Senior Property & Casualty Broker, he was employed with another General Insurance Company as the Chief Technical Officer advising on all matters technical including underwriting, claims and loss control. While at IBWIL he attained a diploma in Property Underwriting as well as the ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute) credentials.
Mr. Naidoo left IBWIL in 1989 to pursue the CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter) designation at the College of Insurance in New York. While in New York he worked with CIGNA, an insurance company underwriting retrospectively rated programs for large national and international companies. While companies still purchase retrospectively rated programs from insurance carriers they have moved away from the incurred to the deductible rated plans. This type of program is extremely rewarding to a client with a favorable loss experience which can usually be predicted based on the clients’ historical loss data. He performed statistical work on the retained limit per claim, per occurrence as well as in the aggregate. The final stage of the process requires a financial analysis of the company’s balance sheet.
Mr. Naidoo was fortunate to work at Willis North America in the capacity of Senior Casualty Broker, at AON Corp as Senior Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group, at Frank Crystal & Co as a Senior Managing Director responsible for managing the large accounts group and is currently the Managing Director of Krauter& Company, a large USA based Insurance Broker. His considerable experience in all lines of Commercial Insurance especially any form of casualty allows him to provide services to IBWIL’s private and commercial sector large accounts while contributing to the preparation of tenders for Government, pseudo Government and large private industry clients. Mr. Naidoo is a Chartered Insurance Broker.
KISHA BHAGGAN ACCA, FCPA, MBA
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Miss Bhaggan joined IBWIL as Accountant in October 2004 and was appointed Director/Accountant in 2005.
Miss Bhaggan is the holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Heriot Watt University in Scotland and is also a Chartered Accountant (ACCA qualified). She is also a qualified Forensic Certified Public Accountant (FCPA).
